Located in Vervale, West Gippsland, the Lineham Family has historically undertaken various agricultural pursuits over many generations including beef, dairy and potatoes.

During 2011 and 2012 Alex took the opportunity to purchase breeding cows from select prominent herds within Victoria and New South Wales which were dispersed during this period. These early purchases formed the basis for the current breeding herd.

Alex then went on to establish the Lineham Farms name together with Jessica and the children Maxwell, Ruby and Bryleigh.  With family at the heart of our enterprise, Lineham farms is now actively dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the traditional Angus breed.

In addition to our commitment to maintaining the breed’s integrity, another major focus for our business is grass-fed beef production.  We have been very active in the carcass competition arena, regularly entering steer trials and shows at which we have been very successful. We are proud supporters of our local pasture based feed trial which is held at Lardner Park Annually. We have been very successful in this competition as well, winning trophies for best Carcass as a pair on two separate occasions.

From small beginnings, we have strived to improve our herd through selective breeding and stringent herd management practices with a focus on holistic and sustainable farming methods. We now have a herd of 200 plus breeders, with bloodlines from Sarum Angus in QLD as well as Ballanee Angus in Nilma, Victoria, both highly renowned Angus breeders for whom we have the utmost respect and admiration.

As we move forward, Alex and I remain dedicated to the pursuit of excellence both in cattle breeding and meat production and look forward to continuing our work upholding the legacy of the Angus Breed in conjunction with the association.
